Hello there.

My name is Gretchen Nash - a multidisciplinary creative originally from Saginaw, MI. I currently reside in Seattle, WA and have over a decade of professional experience in print, motion, and software experience design. I am currently working at the Amazon Device and Services Design Group as a Visual UX Designer - focusing on multimodal device experiences within the Alexa products.

When I was younger I was really interested in illustration - which eventually led me to the California Institute of the Arts where I studied Graphic Design. After college I worked at a few motion graphics studios in Seattle and LA where I did Art Direction and Design for post-production VFX commercials. You’ve probably even seen a few of them!

Currently my focus is on software UI design. I have found that my background in graphic design, illustration, and motion have suited me well in this field. It’s always exciting to see how different skill sets can inform my design, process, and approach.

Every now and then I will pick up some freelance work. My favorite projects to design for are ones that I am passionate about - like album packaging, illustration, and logo design. I love to collaborate, so if you have a project in mind please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

When I’m not at work jamming out in my headphones (because music is life) - I’m probably in the crowd at a music show or looking for something amazing at a thrift store. I also like to hang out with my cats Scully + Mulder.

Thanks for taking your time to visit my portfolio, check back for the latest and greatest!
